SDS Releases Their Much-Anticipated Debut Album, “Come Home”Thursday, July 28, 2011Source: 11-11 Music, LLCDALLAS – Snyder.Davis.Smith's music is unique. In their debut album, “Come Home” the Texas trio explores the limitless possibilities of their beautiful, original sound. A sound the group has come to coin, “Southern Christian.” In this new sound, the group never utilizes a single electric instrument. They, for the most part, purely rely on the simple, stripped-down sound of three instruments: an acoustic guitar, an acoustic bass, and a cajon. Amazingly, the foundations of these three instruments create 10 undeniable catchy, melodic tracks that are instantly memorable to any fan of music. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by SDS at Preliminary Hearing Studio in North Richland Hills, TX over the past year, and their attention to their craft is well-noted. Each track is replete with Tommy Snyder's percussive and melodic guitar style, Kent Davis’ smooth and infectious bass rumblings, and Josh Smith’s earthy, toe-tapping percussion. Some highlights include: "Redeemed," “The Healing Psalm,” “Come Home,” and an outstanding cover of “Leaning One The Everlasting Arms.” Snyder.Davis.Smith's debut album provides healing for those who appreciate quality original music, made by life-long artists. In short, Southern Christian music is known for its happiness and beauty, and the album "Come Home" is one of the greatest examples.BACK

Snyder.Davis.Smith Eyes June For Their Release Of "Come Home"Saturday, May 21, 2001Source: 11-11 MusicDALLAS - Snyder.Davis.Smith has a new album in the works, and their latest update is that it will “finally be available in June of this year.” SDS recorded all of the new songs for the album over the last few months at their 11-11 Music headquarters in North Richland Hills, TX. Kent Davis stated, "We have finished all of the tracking. We just need to add a little here and there, and change some things up. There are a few more tweaks that need to be done to make it just right.”SDS wrote 20 to 30 songs for this upcoming project, but the hard task was deciding which tracks would actually make the album. "We tried to narrow those down,” says Davis, "but it was extremely hard at first. Finally, after continual thought and prayer, we narrowed it down to 10 songs that we believe best express our ministry at this time.”As for the album’s title, "Come Home," SDS says it has multiple meanings. First and foremost, they believe it is a calling that all Christians experience twice in their life. One time is when a Christian accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, and the second time is when a Christian is called to take their place in heaven. In short, "Come Home" is inviting everyone to return to that special time and place where there world was filled with warmth, joy, and love.BACK

Live Nation, Guy Oseary Launch Online Photo GalleryFriday, May 20, 2011Source: Hollywood ReporterLOS ANGELES - This week, Untitled Entertainment partner Guy Oseary and Live Nation are going live with a joint web venture RockPaperPhoto.com, an online art gallery selling largely unpublished, hand-signed, limited-edition prints of more than 1,000 singers and acts ranging from B.B. King and James Brown to Green Day and Gwen Stefani. The site features the work of 70 photographers including such recognized names as Baron Wolman, Ian Dickson, Deborah Feingold and Michael Putland. RockPaperPhoto museum-quality processes include silver gelatin, archival chromogenic, platinum print and archival print, with entry prices at $250 running to a top-tier of $10K.The website is a bit of a passion project for Oseary, who manages the careers of Madonna and Alex Rodriguez among others and is also the exec producer of "Last Call with Carson Daly." He was the architect of Madonna's landmark 2007 deal with Live Nation."I've been collecting photos for a long time, I mean since I started making money. But what you have had to go through to find a good photo is like a needle in the haystack sometimes. You'll drive from one gallery to the next gallery to the next gallery. It's not an easy process. It's a very ancient model that just hasn't caught up with the times," says Oseary. "So I really came up with this idea out of frustration."Oseary first discussed the concept with Live Nation CEO/president Michael Rapino over dinner a few years ago. "We've been talking about it for a while and we finally said, 'Just go for it.' I really wanted to create a place where you could just sit back and be able to discover great photography instead of specifically going to a gallery to find one," says the manager. He says his own collection of photos numbers around 200, including a number of shots of The Sex Pistols and John Lennon by Bob Gruen (who is not featured on the site). "Those were the ones that when I made my first dollar I decided to invest in," he says.Says photographer Tom Murray, whose famous 1968 photos of the Beatles are on the site: "It runs the gamut from Frank Sinatra to Justin Bieber and it suits everyone's pocketbooks. It's all limited editions - they are interested in low numbers and high quality."Among Murray's photos is his famous, or perhaps infamous, shot of John Lennon playing dead in a park while his three bandmates look on."We were taking other pictures and suddenly he dropped to the ground and pretended to be dead. Twelve years later when it actually happened it was very spooky. It's a very controversial picture. Beatles fans either love it or hate it," says Murray.RockPaperPhoto shares profits 50/50 with artists, a traditional split in the bricks-and-mortar art gallery world. The site is one of many recent forays into the digital world by Oseary. He was instrumental in developing GrouponLive, a discount-tickets joint venture, announced May 11, between Groupon (for whom he advises) and Live Nation.Last year, he formed a digital investment partnership with Ashton Kutcher called A-Grade which has helped fund such recent start-ups as video-chat service TinyChat, anonymous-flirting hub LikeALittle and GrubWithUs, a website for finding like-minded people to dine with. "We are making a lot of investments," says Oseary.BACK

Snyder.Davis.Smith Releases Their First Single, "I Choose The Better Thing"Saturday, May 21, 2011Source: 11-11 MusicDALLAS -11-11 Music has set a May 27th, 2011 release date for Snyder.Davis.Smith's brand-new single, "I Choose The Better Thing." The group's first single, "I Choose The Better Thing," which SDS's Tommy Snyder co-wrote with Gateway Worship's Zach Neese, will premiere Tuesday, May 27th on iTunes, impacts radio on June 6th and will be available for purchase through all other major digital providers starting June 3rd. The single finds the Texas natives — beloved for their unique instrumentation, soulful vocals, and earthy charm — experimenting with a new sound, which resulted in a stripped-down, acoustic sound both musically and lyrically. It is a sound that SDS has labeled Southern Christian, and a sound in which they believe provides the listener with an unparalleled emotional experience. SDS's Josh Smith adds, "The emotional tone of the song is balanced out by the transparent, spiritual lyrics. It is a unique combination in which, we believe, conveys a distinct vulnerability."Snyder. Davis Smith decided that their best strategy for "I Choose The Better Thing," was to shrug off any expectations of the music industry and focus on the song. "Stripping down our sound changed everything for me," Smith says. "Not only did it open my mind to new ideas, but it changed the way we wrote the rest of the album. We were able to tap into something really pure on this song. It was great to take our leashes off and experiment. Although it doesn't stray too far from what we've always done individually, I think it's the first song we've made that has captured our true sound."BACK

HISTORYIn 2010, Snyder Davis Smith was formed out of a common bond. A passion for God, a love of family and a message of how God’s love and grace can redeem any challenge in life. It began with a lyric which grew into a song and culminated in a collection of songs. “Come Home” is the result of three lifelong musicians sharing a tapestry of musical influences to offer a fresh new sound. The music tells the story that has been told for over two thousand years. The SDS message is very simple. It is not about the music, the musicians or the performance. It is about the unconditional love and salvation God offers each and everyone through His son Jesus Christ. The music will never overshadow or water down the message. You are invited to spend some time with the music and more importantly the message. You are invited to Come Home.

WELCOME SD is a mixture of Southern rock and the Gospel influence of the south. Their simple, acoustic approach is the sound of the people and the regions that have influenced the lives of SD while spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
